The farm and its flavors
A portrait of the Zeppichl Bauernguet farm in Plan
The Zeppichl Bauernguet farm is located in the quietest and sunniest part of Plan at 1,700 meters above sea level. Farmer Martin lives here with his wife Ramona and their children Sofia, Julian and Raffael. Grandfather Gottfried completes the Schweigl family and has years of experience. Therefore, he is a great help to the family and supports them in the daily work on the Zeppichl Bauernguet farm.
Martin has realized his biggest dream at the farm: continuing to take care of the cows and opening his own farm shop and butcher store.
His passion to work with meat and his craftsmanship led him to complete an apprenticeship as a butcher at a young age. Ever since Martin has practiced this profession with a lot of passion. At the farm you will only find meat from his own animals or from those of other farmers in the Val Passiria valley.
Everything that grows and thrives on the Zeppichl Bauernguet farm is turned into delicious and genuine food. The farm shop offers high-quality products like honey, jams, fruit juices, and various kinds of meat and sausages. The products are not only regional, but also seasonal.
Ramona runs the shop and loves to be in touch with her clients or to give advice on local products. Daughter Sofia spends a lot of time in the farm shop, as well, and is a great help for her mother. In addition to the store, Ramona manages the four vacation apartments, which are open ten months of the year. The guests especially appreciate her friendliness and hospitality.
Another favorite place of Martin and his three children at the Zeppichl Bauernguet farm is the barn, where he looks after the 40 cows, pigs and goats. Day by day he works with great dedication to create the best conditions for the fresh milk which is milked every day throughout the year.
His sons Julian and Raffael love to help their father in the barn and enjoy playing in the hay or clearing the snow. In addition to his daily work at the farm, Martin offers a catering service of agricultural products throughout South Tyrol.
